The Story:
She stood at the edge of her calm, watching the sun fall off the world. She couldn’t believe what was about to happen. To think that she would be chosen for this, out of all the candidates that trained their whole lives… It didn’t make sense. She hadn’t even asked; maybe that was the key.
Her hands were shaking again, and she could feel the questions that refused to be answered eating away at her peace, leaving only terror.
But she would go. To be the first. To be the only one. To be remembered. She would go.
