Two days. That’s how long Seek First Productions had to throw this music video together. And they had it shot, edited, colored, rendered, client-revised, and delivered less than a week later. Impressive is an understatement…

I received the shot list for this video the night before the shoot. We had a late call time (11:30am), so I packed my car that night and spent the morning before the shoot researching Cimorelli and Rachel Platten, and listening to “Fight Song” over and over again on Spotify to burn it into my brain… Consequently, it stayed there for three additional days. At least it’s an awesome song!

Due to the time constraints, I didn’t have available everything I wanted (like a 1.2k HMI and Kino Flos), but we were able to get a 1-ton grip truck with the always-super Sam Willey at the helm of it. Whenever I work with Sam, I am confident that we will overcome any gear limitations. The man is a beast!

Christina Cimorelli did a fair amount of directing, as well. I was impressed at how encouraging she was to her sisters and to the crew. It was clear that she had a firm vision of how the music video should look and feel, and she was terrific at helping us achieve that vision.

We showed up, got it all shot and wrapped up on time, and we were blessed with perfect weather. It may have been insanely quick, but I couldn’t have asked for a better production team to work with… And did I mention the fantastic weather?

Working with Cimorelli

These girls were wonderful to work with. Kind, humble, and courteous–every single one of them! They have great hearts, and I’m convinced they just want to make the world a better place through their music.

Christina Cimorelli even took an interest in my writing and authorship goals. She loved my Storygram short stories and asked if she could be in one. So, we stepped outside and took a picture in a style she wanted. A few days later, I uploaded that Storygram, and as far as I know, she loved it.

Truly, it’s awesome to find someone so successful being kind and encouraging to someone like me, and I think that is a personality trait inherent in every one of the Cimorelli sisters. I certainly hope I get to work with them again!
